Four of us had the Kobe beef set menu (5/6 courses, 12,000 yen per person) mid week at supper time. This was our first visit to the restaurant and our first taste of Kobe beef. The restaurant is not obviously located on the first floor of a building and has capacity for not more than 15 people (we had made a reservation in advance). We were greeted warmly by the the chef and waitress who seated us at one of two Japanese style tables (both tables have recessed footwells into which to place your feet and wooden chair backs). We selected a bottle of 2011 Syrah from a wine list of about 6 wines which were predominantly Western European. The wine was surprisingly keenly priced (3,200 yen for a 750ml bottle). The food came by way of various small courses each of which were delicious and explained to us by the chef who cooks in full view of the tables and was justly proud of his Kobe beef certificate (admittedly in Japanese so not fully appreciated by us!). We we would highly recommend to anyone else looking to experience Kobe beef for the first time.
