What a great place to have dinner right in the middle of Perugia. Very deceptive from the outset guests enter through a small deli going downstairs to a very attractive cellar conversion packed with memorabilia. The staff are excellent and avoided the temptation to dismiss our poor Italian by assisting us through the menu. Menus are served attached to the pages of hard back novels, hence the name of the restaurant. The Zuppe was cold and spicy, welcome in small amounts but too much for my appetite although that is not the fault of the restaurant. Again the cannelloni was excellent served with asparagus, highly recommended. My friend had chocolate coated banana which looked like Italy's version of death by chocolate and I had the smallest grande caffe latte ever, never the less enjoyable. With an excellent bottle of 2008 Sagrantino de Montefalco the bill came to an amazing 65€ Where else can you dine as well as this for so like ?
