We ordered a platter that allegedly serves 4 people on Thursday, 8 May, at Ocean Basket in Grey Owl, Centurion, priced at a whopping R450. Strangely, the platter for 4 only contained 3 portions of fish fillets, and rather dry and small ones at that. As for the rest, this was more a serving for 2 people than for 4. A couple of weeks before, we also went to Ocean Basket Irene Mall, and were also quite surprised at the paucity of calamari in another platter we ordered. We thought this was down to the individual franchise outlet. Judging by the inadequate portion size at both outlets, we are now starting to wonder whether Ocean Basket is deliberately cutting down on its portions to save costs. Won't see us again soon, because the value-for-money proposition that OB used to have, sadly seems gone.
