We came with overseas guests for dinner at Alkimia. As I've been living in Palermo for a while, my opinion is that the food here is just average for Sicilian fare despite the nice restaurant setting. Thankfully my guests enjoyed their meals so that was a plus. We ordered a Fried seafood mix as a main- which presentation wise looked ordinary, with small pieces of fried seafood scattered about the plate. This could have been presented better, or for instance if the seafood pieces were bigger - they would have looked more appetising. The piece of steak with an uninspiring side of greens was tasty but nothing special. The pasta with zucchini, prawns and tomato (a typical Sicilian pasta dish) was average, alittle bland. The margarita pizza (all cheese) was the saving grace as it was good. We didn't order dessert as we chose to go out for a gelato instead. I was abit disappointed with my experience having read the glowing reviews before our visit.
