I knew we had to try this place when our Uber driver, who used to work in the area of our hotel, said they serve great deli/diner food. I have to admit, we were starting to doubt his glowing reviews when we found out the place was located on a balcony in the back of a liquor store. In addition, the place is located on a corner in a part of town where there really aren't very many eating establishments. The Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill and the Liaison Hotel are virtually next door. This is mainly a takeout place, although there are four stools overlooking the liquor store. The menu is typical deli/diner fare -- pastrami, reuben, corned beef, tuna salad, BLTs, pasta salads, salads, hamburgers, french fries etc. They also serve breakfast sandwiches. Our reuben, pastrami delight and hamburgers were delicious. Our kids loved their hamburgers and the deli sandwiches the adults ordered, were equally as good. The service was fast and friendly and prices were very reasonable for the large sandwiches. It is safe to say, nobody was hungry after their meal. Our first lunch was so good, we stopped back the next day to have another one. Lunch for four - four sodas, an order of french fries, side of pasta salad, two hamburgers, two deli sandwiches was about $30. Considering the portion sizes, we found the prices very reasonable for Washington D.C. If you are looking for a good lunch option close to Capitol Hill (two blocks north) definitely stop by this place for a great "hole in the wall" experience. Just remember, this is basically a take out place.
