We read about this place in a local food guide and decided to give it a try...boy am I glad we did. We're staying at Raddisson Blu in Kraków and about a 7 minute walk to the market square, when you hit the square, hang a right and twenty steps later, you're there. This is in the basement down the hall, but the "street guy" will steer down. We started with a couple of half liters of Polish draft while we perused the lengthy menu. My finger stopped once at the mushroom noodle soup and again at the pork knuckle cooked with honey and garlic. The soup can be described in one word: INCREDIBLE. The pork knuckle was served with pickles, and mustard and horseradish along with half a loaf of really good rye bread. I ate until I couldn't take another bite. I was stuffed! Man that was good...don't let the name scare you! My wife is a bit less adventuresome when it come to eating and opted for a steak with roasted potatoes, again, very good. We had a wonderful waitress who helped with the choices. She provided excellent service and a friendly smile. This is a fun place to eat, and the food can't be beat. The price for this unbelievable meat, with tip was $36.62. I don't want to leave Poland tomorrow morning! They have all manners of Polish food, simple, hearty, and delicious. I'll try to list some of the menu items that looked really good: pirogues, gaumpkees (this appetizer is a meal), steaks, fish, pork, and pasta...extensive menu. The feature is pork knuckle served 10 different ways! Live a little, try a pork knuckle!
