Recommended so open minded did not disapoint good service and lovely food.Service was good and BYO which we think is important. The menu based on Kerala (South Indian) style of cooking which makes a change from the prevalent North Indian restaurants in Christchurch.
A Tamil friend of my dad's told us about this restaurant, and being half Indian, and having a dad whose the whole nine yards we checked this place out. The owner was very friendly, and when he knew we were dosa aficionados, he recommended we have their special dosa, which included egg and tomato in the filling. It was one of the tastiest dosa's i have ever had, the filling was delicious, as was the sambar. For a takeaway, as we live in Greymouth, a veritable food dessert in comparison to Christchurch, we took away to karti rolls, and a beef curry. Both were absolutely delicious. In addition, the restaurant is spotlessly clean.
This small shabby place serves up the best Indian food I ever tried. It is expertly crafted to perfection and so inexpensive. Not licensed but try the chai tea after mango lassi. We had chicken malabari with appam pancake, Masala dosa and Gobi Manchurian, all absolutely delicious. So good we wanted to return next day for more. Five star food let down a bit by small restaurant.
