I had a noonday snack and spent more time in line than eating. There was an additional line to the restroom. Patrons got a single-use voucher with purchase, others paid half a euro. I suppose, due to the location near the monument, the facility would be overwhelmed if the restroom were free. I saw no waiters. The café appeared clean and the food was good. Prices were reasonable. An ATM was conveniently located inside the café.
This self-service cafe is located between the Discoverers monument (Pardrao dos Descobrmentos) and the Tower (Torre de Belem). Quite pleasant. You can eat inside or outside. Purchase of food also provides password for their free WiFi and free entrance to the restrooms in the basement.
Went to this restaurant several times ,but the last one was during restaurant week. Although the choices are restricted at this time i had a very enjoyable meal. The pumpkin soup with shrimp was delicious and so was the grouper on a cod risotto. The dessert was a deception ! The ambience was quite nice . Service was quite good. I recommend it1
The restaurant has a part for self service and another for fine dining. Our visit to the self service area was discouraging due to big numbers of persons and a measure of chaos. We then went to the other side which is tranquil and has proper food and a wide variety of wines. Am a bit septic about equal treatment of customers Otherwise it is also well positioned near the river/harbor as a proper resting place after visiting a lot of tourist attractions nearby.
