This small hole-in-the-wall in Ruston is very kid friendly with a play area full of toys. You order at the counter and they bring food to you. It's all natural and very good. As long as there is not a line it goes reasonably fast. The decor is a bit funky with mis-matched tables and even a couch or two, but that just makes it more friendly. We were there with four young grand kids, three three or under and nobody misbehaved, a modern miracle. That's because they were intent with the many toys in the 'kids' corner.' It's kind of a diamond in the rough.

A VERY historical place to get a great sandwich! Sometimes has gluten free bread, but it is just a great old place for the inside history....it's been here at least 40 years....all manner of neat old things on individually neat old tables!! (antiques!) Sandwiches are always overflowing, best not come at noon, as it can be busy, but generally no waiting. You go up to the very old counter, order from the big menu and go find a table! In my day it was the cool hippie hang out...it's still relevant for today and just as good!!! Not your fast food restaurant, more a fantastic "different" dining experience...I think, a not to be missed stop, goes perfectly with an all day visit to the North End of Tacoma!

Stopped in to have a sandwich and a cup of tea. Turkey on wheat with sprouts and tomatoes. Yummy....bread was delicious. Hot tea of choice blood orange. Mixed in a tsp of real honey and omg....it's delicious!! Made my tummy all warm! Clam chowder, which I'm not a big fan of, was full of flavor and really good. I will come back when I visit again.

After a morning of sightseeing, we stopped in for a sandwich. This was our first time here, and the staff was super helpful with suggestions and food descriptions. Hot apple cider is the BEST! Food portions were good. The dining area was comfortable and unique. Every table was a different dining table, like your dining room table at home. I also purchased coffee, local honey and local granola to take home. Definitely will return when I visit the area.
