They had a Poke Bowl Special for $5.00 so the kids went in for it (they wolfed it down). Fresh marinated Poke over rice. Had prepared packaged bentos but they were all out. Come in early as this is a local spot. Small strip mall containing four other local fast food spots, so if you have others who may not be into one choice of food, there are other choices. Small paved parking lot, be careful maneuvering in and out the one entrance. One or two tables inside so you'd be best taking out.

Ate here pretty much every other day for a month, if not more often. Why? You can't pass up the Poke Bowl Special = $5! Normally, they're $6.95, but look for the big yellow sign on the door to let you know the special is on = not sure if it's a weekly thing or a certain time of day. Read other reviews and tried the touted garlic shrimp plate, but that was nothing like Geste (Maui) or Giovanni's (Oahu). Nowhere close. Plus, I like my purple potato salad chunky, and Cousin's is whipped and kind of meh tasting. Plus, mac salad is spaghetti style and a little plain. Just my preference. So as I was saying, the $5 poke bowl is probably the second best I've had, but tops in value and taste for price. You can get brown rice, which is rare. The fish is so fresh and they cut the ahi into the perfect bite sizes v. huge chunks. Never a stringy or tough/fatty piece. Good mouth feel and savors the flavor well. Perfect amount of shoyu (not swimming in it) and it's a shoyu that doesn't leave your mouth with that artificial chemical feeling on your teeth you can sometimes get. Best is the furikake on top. Put that all together and you've got a good size bowl of food. I've eaten about 5 bowls in various Oahu places since then and non compare. I miss you, Cousin's Shoyu Poke Bowl! * They have spicy poke as well, but I'm not into mayo. When I did order it once, had to had hot sauce to get it more spicy, fyi. The other thing Cousin's does so well are the infamous bombs. Love that you can order 1 as a side or get the 6-pack for a good deal. They keep well = perfect for take to beach or camping. Again, I like to throw a little heat on mine (made with the spicy poke). If I lived here, I'd be eating the poke bowl 24/7. Counter service/take out only at 1 register. Sit and wait for your order, or call ahead. Young, friendly counter staff.
