We have dined here and had takeaways many times, good food enhanced by the very entertaining maitre de No fine dining here, but good old honest Chinese food in a setting that really needs a spruce up now, becoming rather worn, a great cheap meal out

We've been to this restaurant a few times; and the food has always been excellent. The menu is so vast and varied; and I've not seen some of these dishes at other Chinese places. We had the Wasabi Beef, Salt & Pepper Eggplant (you may not find this on the menu),. some veggies, and a calamari dish. All very good, served promptly; and with amazing service and lots of banter. :-) Definitely a place worth many visits; both for the food and the service.

This is my third visit in the last 12 years. Most food was okay except fried duck in lemon sauce. The batter was soggy and not crisp enough to my liking comparing to many other similar type restaurants. However, overall rating was okay. The decor` looked tired and had it. Needs good clean refurbishment more of chinese colours of gold and reds to bring some life to the interior decor`. Try not to get anything fried if you can avoid it. Needs also some new infusion to the menu. Thanks.

Okay, this place is seriously dated decor wise, but who cares? The food is always excellent (though I don't recommend getting fried food for take away. The steam generated by the food ruins the crispy texture), and there's a great variety to choose from. The owner is a funny guy, who is always there with a wise crack (my favourite dish is the "Satay chicken having fun", rather than the real title Satay Chicken Hor Fun) or a recommendation. Other staff are a bit meh, but the owner is usually flitting about the place and will liven things up no problem.
